Everyone needs a new summer nail colour and I think I’ve found mine. Again.

Chanel Le Vernis in Lilis -cap off

Part of Chanel’s SS13 colour collection, L’Été Papillon De Chanel, Lilis is also one of three nail shades. None of them are really anything we haven’t already seen before – a summer coral’s a beauty standard and the other two are metallic-iridescent blue and greens, inspired by butterfly wings. Lilis is lovely: an opaque creme gloss that’s perfect in two coats, it’s punchy and bright and just right for a summer’s day. I’m glad this is the one the brand sent me, because I’m not a fan of shimmer shot shades and this is the standout from the nail portion of the collection, in my correct opinion.

This is it after two days on my poor stubby reverse-talons. I’m slightly surprised it lasted this long on me because nothing generally does – you can see a little tip wear but nothing major.

And, to be honest, there’s not a lot more to be said about it: great shade: check. Lovely Chanel bottle: check. The standard luxe pricepoint of €22.50: check. Are there dupes? Sure thing! Rimmel’s Coral Romance is a dead ringer.
