I mean, this just gets points for pretty much everything: packaging; shade; name; finish.
This? This is Limecrime Velvetines in Sudeberry and is just the kind of product I adore. It’s a quick-drying liquid lipstick in a super-vibrant colour and I bought it from Love Make Up for £11.50 plus a pretty hefty £4.50 for postage, but you know – I had to have it.
Liquid lipstick is a formula that definitely doesn’t get enough love thrown at it
Liquid lipstick is a formula that definitely doesn’t get enough love thrown at it. I’m a big fan: Ellis Faas Creamy Lips, Bare Escentuals Pretty Amazing Lip Colour, Rimmel Apocalips and more are all trotted out with the regularity on my face. This is a little different: it’s not a thick, glossy liquid like they all are. Nope, instead, this is a thinner opaque fluid that sets completely and leaves a matte finish.
It’s really unusual.
Here’s how it ends up. And yes, it really is that shocking: a neon, tomato red. I don’t have anything quite this bright and I really, really like it. It doesn’t wear amazingly well, and it’s not a forgiving colour or formula on a scabby, chapped pout (I find I need to prep with balm beforehand) but all-in-all, this a complete winner for me.
