There aren’t many really full-on colour collections for summer 2013, but Lauder has pulled it out of the bag with this glossy edit. On counter at Brown Thomas since May, the Cello Shots collex goes nationwide in July and is really just loads of good clean makeup-based fun.

Estee Lauder Pure Colour Cello Shots products

A lip and cheek edit, there are four Pure Colour Cheek Rush pump-action gel blushers incoming for €36.50 as well as limited edition lip products in the form of six Pure Colour Sheer Rush Lipshine lipsticks, €24 and a matching complement of Pure Colour Sheer Rush Gloss, €22.50.

I’ve got four of ’em to colour my face in with: the gel blushers in X-pose Rose and Hot Fuse, a Lipshine in Plexi Pink and Gloss in Poppy Shock.

The blushers are woooaah, vibrant. Hot Fuse is to the top and X-pose Rose is to the bottom on the top two shots. If you’re familiar with Benefit’s lip and cheek stains like Benetint and Cha Cha Tint, you’ll know there’s little playtime with them – you need to apply and work ’em in right away. Same here; you can see how the Pure Colour Cheek Rush blush really does stain the skin if you leave it in situ without quickly working it about.

So, to avoid Aunt Sally-meets-Bosco cheeks, apply a tiny dot of this and blend super-fast. That means this ain’t for a novice, I don’t think, or there’ll be tears before pub-time. The last swatch here is of the two lip products, Lipshine in Plexi Pink and Gloss in Poppy Shock.

Estee Lauder Lipshine in Plexi Pink

This is Lipshine in Plexi Pink on the lips. Not massively saturated colour-wise but juicy-nice I’d say and good for day.

Like the look of anything or perhaps you’ve already indulged – do tell.
