Wanted to get your paws on Chanel’s cult Bronze Universel-slash-Soleil de Tan but didn’t really feel like shelling out the guts of €50 for it? Yeah, thought not.

Bourjois Bronzing Primer

Bourjois and Chanel are sister brands so they may be sharing secrets

According to the peeps at Bourjois, the new Bronzing Primer, €13.99, is pretty much the same thing. Ok, smaller presentation – you get an 18ml amount as opposed to Chanel’s 30ml, but um, it’s a whole hell of a lot cheaper.

Is it the same? Actually I don’t know, I’ve never tried Soleil de Tan – but Bourjois and Chanel are sister brands so it’s not too much of a stretch to think they may be sharing secrets.

Bronzing primer lightly blended; totally blended

Whatever, even if it’s not quite a 100% match, at a cent under €14, it’s not going to break the bank and it’s a nice product all on its own. Moussey-siliconey in formulation and available in one shade, this applies really easily and is easy to work with. Buffing it in with a brush will probably give the most even finish but it’s very light-weight and blendable.

One thing: if you do not like chocolate-scented products, avoid this, because there is a heavy synthetic fragrance from it as there is from all the brand’s bronzing products. It’s very sweet, so be warned.
