Years ago I came across a Tiger store in Reykjavik, promptly lost my mind and bought about 45,000 things, all of which I had to lug back to Ireland. I still have some of them, notably some brushed aluminium numerical fridge magnets which I use to pin into place all the unpaid bills so I can ignore them.

Now Tiger’s in Ireland and I am delighted. Like a cross between an upmarket €2 euro store – but much, much better – and a cheaper Ikea minus the furniture, it’s an ace place to pick up party essentials, stationery, kids bits and bobs and erm, €2 condoms.

This month they’ve got these boxes in store and aren’t they sweet? Available in five sizes, you’ll pay a mere €3 for the two largest sizes and €2 for three others. Eh – barg.

Check www.tiger-stores.ie for tons more bargainacious goodness and store locations – right now it’s pretty much Leinster only.
