For years we had to spend over the odds if we were emulsifying oil devotees
Is cleansing oil the new gel eyeliner? For years we had to spend over the odds if we were emulsifying oil devotees, much in the way we had to if we were firmly wedded to our pots of gel liner. Then that market opened up to mass and we all breathed a massive sigh of relief that we didn’t have to shell out €24 for a tiny pot of black stuff any more.
And the same sort of thing is happening with cleansing oils. Once the purview of Shu Uemura, Lancome and Keraskin, they’re thankfully moving to the middle of the market where you don’t have to drop the guts of a ton to clean your face of an evening.
I’m really impressed by L’Oreal Paris’ Skin Perfection Oil and as it and the Body Shop share a parent company, L’Oreal, I’ll be looking out for the July-launching Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil from The Body Shop.
It’ll cost €17.20, will include fair trade camomile oil and other skin-softening oils (though whether mineral oil’s in there is something I don’t yet know) and is part of a larger camomile cleansing range that includes a cleansing butter, eye makeup removers and a muslin cloth.
Nice work, peeps.
