1. You Say Tomato
At Rag and Bone, the tomato red lip is having a moment, darlings. Velvet-matte, absolutely full coverage and worn with a sheer base and little to nothing on the eyes, this is the most modern way to wear your lipstick. Do it right now with Mac’s Retro Mattes in Dangerous.
On a separate note, it, um, looks like the Suck Cut is back for SS14. Yikes.
2. The Opalescent Eye
The red lip is dominating for next spring and summer but at Creatures of the Wind, makeup artists did it with this shimmering, gleaming eye that’s slightly more glam than just leaving things well alone. Get on that now with Nars’ Iceland Duo Eyeshadow.
3. Day of The Dead
Mexican folk art themes held sway at Rebecca Minkhoff for nails, which came courtesy of Essie. Wanna know the shades? No probs: use Tart Deco first, and then do your patterns with black Licorice, white Blanc and blue Butler Please.
4. Flushed Blush
There’s always one clean-skin-and-flushed-face look at fashion week and this one comes from equally clean-lines-and-sharp-looks designer Helmut Lang. No real big surprises there, so. Use a foundation with a sheer finish and good glow – Shiseido’s Sheer and Perfect Foundation would be ideal – along with a cream blusher patted on. Bourjois’ velvety options are perfect.
5. Glazed and Confused
Soft lips, perfect skin and gilded, liquid eyes were the look at Jason Wu. Should you, yannow, want to get down with this very pretty beauty look for a party or the C-word, you can: Lancome supplied makeup for Wu’s show. Color Design Eye Brightener All-in-One 5 Shadow and Liner Palette in Bronze Amour was used on lids along with Hypnose Star Mascara plus rose gold glitter in the center of the eyelids.
6. Blade Runner
Like a Techno Pris, this: carefully cropped, dipped and dyed wigs were created for the Carmen Marc Valvo show and nails were done by a brand we’ve looked at on Frillseeker before: Morgan Taylor. Nail those talons with In The Nude and tips of Little Black Dress.
