€24 for 6ml means this new nail paint from Giorgio Armani must, by my admittedly shaky maths, be worth around the same per square centimetre as his couture dresses. Or thereabouts.

Pricey anyway, so it’d want to be good, wouldn’t it?

In 18 shades across three colourways of reds, beiges and aquas, it is very nice. I mean, I dunno about repurchasing at €24 nice but yes, given that it was a press sample, I’m more than happy to use it.

Giorgio Armani Nail Lacquer in Taupe Greige

I’d be a tiny bit grumpy about the brush on this – I’ve seen other raves but mine seemed to be badly snipped. You can’t see it so well there but it’s uneven on one side. Possibly just a manufacturing error. Brush is important to the finish, but not so much as formulation, which in this product is lovely.

Giorgio Armani Nail Lacquer in Taupe Greige on the nail

Giorgio Armani says this has a gel texture and it does deliver that, with an easy application and a high shine, cushioned-looking finish. For more product in the bottle, buy a YSL La Laque Couture. For a less hefty spend, pick up a L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Nails – they’re both essentially the same as far as I can tell.

Above I’ve used two coats with no base or top, and I really like this colour. It’s got a mauve in it which is modern and altogether yummy. But if Taupe Greige ain’t your thing, there are plenty more colours to choose from.

Giorgio Armani Nail Lacquer shades

Like Bleu d’Armani, Madraperla, Scarlatto, Night Viper and Zero.

Whaddya reckon? €24 = ok for Giorgio Armani or €24 = Good Jesus Mary and Joseph?
