Essie’s autumn edit this year is a six-strong collection which takes its cues from fabric: we’ve got the undisputed leader of the pack here in the form of For the Twill Of It, a really nice duochrome. After School Boy Blazer is a workhorse navy creme and The Lace Is On is a pleasantly pearlescent fuchsia.
There’s also Twin Sweater Set, the ever-essential crimson red, Cashmere Bathrobe, a deep flannel grey with soft shimmer (I went for this) and Vested Interest, a grey teal.
To my eye it’s not particularly autumnal really, but neither is it a spring edit: it’s just very nice for this time of year and the shade edit works really well together. It’s ver chic. Ver chic altogether.
For my money, these are the standouts: For The Twill of it (Oh boy oh boy! I love a pun) and Cashmere Bathrobe are real points of difference for Essie and something nice to differentiate your talons this season.
Look! Can I have giant polish bottles on my walls, please? No? Oh.
And here’s a lil’ After School Boy Blazer on nails. No Mammy, not my nails, calm down, calm down.
