Well knock me down with a feather and colour me all kinds of blended gorgeous but this little shadow palette from Revlon has rocketed right to the top of my eye shadow palette charts.
It’s one of five colourways in the new Revlon PhotoReady Eyeshadow & Primer range, this one is Metropolitan and is, I think, the nicest. Not quite a dupe for Mac’s recent Veluxe Pearlfusion shadow quint in Smokeluxe, it’s really not a million miles away either – so if you missed out on that, I’d definitely say check this out. At €13.20, a bit of a barg too.
You get four shadows and one primer – it’s the pearly pink shade bottom left. Designed to be applied all over the lid as a first step, the back of the palette then has a guide for the placement of the colours to guide you.
Or, you know, you can put them where you like.
And you will like: these are delicious. For use wet or dry, they’re gorgeously smooth, blendable, pigmented, satiny and sheeny (with the exception of that soft chocolate matte, that is). This is a lovely little shade edit. Plus, that gold has some subtle holo sparkle in there (scream!) and the shades aren’t warm. No, no: the two darks are cool. Praise the lord.
In fact, it is pretty much perfect. If I had to find a fault, I’d say the pan sizes are a little fiddly for getting a brush into and the shadow itself tends towards the powdery; but that’s just being finicky for the sake of it. Truly – this is only deadly. To a Revlon counter with you!
