Who doesn’t love a bit of real life, huh? And when that real life story is combined with a delve into someone’s bathroom cabinet then I’m not just hooked; I’m baited, reeled in and landed.

So we thought you lot’d be interested in the morning routines of a few Frillseekers too: and here they are. From the under three minute zappy ‘do to the absolute bells and whistles Full Monty of 45, we find out what the nation DOES BE getting up to in the bathroom of a morning.

Thanks a million to our guinea pigs – you were all brilliant.

Dundalk by way of South Africa, Cindy Tiernan blogs at Girlwiththeskewearring.blogspot.ie (you can also find her work on closer2fabulous.ie) and is a mum to two “gorgeous” squiddies (her quotes!).  In search of the holy grail cream that gives babysoft, un-pigmented skin, she also hopes that it’ll make coffee and toast for brekkie every morning too.

“My alarm goes off at 7:15am but I only get out of bed at 7:45am. I spend a few minutes snug in my bed checking Twitter and emails before my hubs brings me coffee in bed.

“Cleanser is REN Rose Centifolia gel cleanser and Human+Kind Microfibre cloths along with Vichy Thermal Water spray (2 mins). I use La Roche-Posay Hydraphase Intense Leger on my cheeks and chin, then Avene Hydrance Optimal UV Legere SPF20 (2 mins).

“Garnier BB for oily/combination skin is applied with my trusty Real Techniques Expert face brush, (30 secs), followed by Essence Cherry Blossom Girl Blush with a big fluffy brush (30 secs).

“I use Catrice Starlight Espresso eyeshadow in my brows, NYC Big Bold Curl Mascara and Catrice Nude Shadow all over the eyelid. Avon Gel Shock Eyeliner Pencil in Black is smudged into my lash line with a cotton bud (1-2 mins). I apply NARS Velvet Gloss Lip pencil in New Lover (10 secs).

“I have the kind of hair that looks better after it’s been slept on. I wash my hair at night and either put it in a bun and sleep on it, or straighten it and sleep on it. So mornings mean: Run fingers through hair, check to see if it looks like I’ll get away with it down, or whack it up into a rough bun (1 min).

CINDY'S TIME TOTAL: 10-12 minutes .

Hazel O’Toole, 33, lives in Dublin. She’s a percussionist and backing singer with Barry Finnimore. Check ‘em out on barryfinnimore.wordpress.com.

“My alarm is set for 7.02am, I get up at 7.10am.  When the bell tolls for me, I drag myself out of bed, into the bathroom for essential maintenance (and only the essentials), get dressed (I lay my clothes out the night before in order of how I dress.) I’m not anal; I just love my sleep. I ransack the flat looking for my keys and Leap card and then rock out the door for about 7.30am.

“I wash at night using No7 Hot Cloth Cleanser. Moisturiser is Vichy Idealia; a stripe on my forehead, each cheek and chin (30 secs).

“If I have a very noticeable spot, I use Rimmel Hide the Blemish Concealer, rubbed in with my finger (20 secs).  Sometimes I throw on a bit of Make Up Factory pressed powder on my forehead and nose, if shiny.

“I apply Miss Sporty, Pump Up Booster Mascara. It takes 30 seconds.  Rimmel Scandal’eyes waterproof eye liner in black adds another 30 seconds.

“Burts Bees lip gloss in Fig takes 10 seconds and I just tie hair up in a ponytail or brush it, depending on the state of it! (1 min)

HAZEL’S TIME TOTAL: 2 mins, 50 seconds.

20-year-old Chloe Power is from Wexford, but is studying in Germany. She blogs at verylovelystuff.blogspot.ie, and is currently abroad for a year (so her skin has exploded) and she likes to waste her life away on the internet.

“I am 100% not a morning person. I need to wake up almost an hour before I leave the house, just to wander around in a daze while I struggle to remember who I am and what my natural hair colour is.

“I literally just wash my face with water and a face cloth in the mornings. I'm always terrified of using too many products! (20 secs) I'm currently trying Balea Aqua Serum - A really cheap serum I found here for dehydrated skin. If my skin doesn't feel too bad, I use L'Oreal Paris Hydra Active 3 (20 secs). I use Clinique City Block SPF 40 and Benefit It's Potent! Eye Cream (40 secs).

“I've been using 17 Stay Time foundation, applied with the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge. Under-eye concealer is Make Up For Ever Lift Concealer and face concealer is Benefit Boi-ing. They're all long lasting! (3 mins)

“I don't bother using powder with the 17 foundation, so I stick to cream products. I use the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush for both my blusher and bronzer - Currently Bourjois Bronzing Primer, as a contour, and Topshop Cheek Duo in Up In The Air (1.5 mins).

“I prefer to focus on my eyes, so I use the MUA Smokin' Palette in Broken over the lids, and Wicked in the crease. I always use Virgin from the Urban Decay Naked palette as a highlight, and L'Oreal Paris Superline Gel Liner. I alternate mascaras – I like Lancome Hypnose Drama. I've been using Maybelline Master Shape Brow Pencil, and I use my Nima Large Shadow Brush and Liner Brush, a MAC 219 & Stila #9. (5-6 mins)

“I especially like pigmented lipglosses. I use Labello lip balm, and then Essence Stay With Me lipgloss in Berry Me (1 min).

“Unless I have lots of time to straighten or style hair, I just tend to comb through my ends with my fingers to avoid being a frizzy mess and use Hask Argan oil in the ends (1 min).

CHLOE’S TIME TOTAL: Around 14 minutes.

Yvonne Magner’s a part-time office worker, full-time full time wife and mother to a gorgeous little boy as well as a beauty blogger at One For The Wishlist. This 34-year-old fashion lover has a serious problem with shoes, in that she needs them all.

“I usually get up around 7am-ish unless the demon child lets me sleep in a bit. I currently use L’Oreal Paris 15 Second Miracle Cleansing Oil.  You simply massage a few pumps into dry skin or a full face of slap and then wet your hands and massage to emulsify, then rinse off (1 min).

“I use La Roche-Posay Hydraphase Intense Legere moisturiser. For eye cream I use Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream and I occasionally use Clinique Turnaround Concentrate under my moisturiser if my skin has been a bit rough or dull (1.5 mins).

“I use Nars Light Optimizing Primer before foundation. It takes about one minute to apply and is good to go straight away to apply foundation/concealer on top. I use Nars Sheer Glow Foundation, buffed in with my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush (2 mins). For concealing my humungous under eye dark circles I use a Bobbi Brown Corrector applied with my Real Techniques detailer to brighten the area and then use Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer on top to match my skin tone (1 min). I set the whole lot with Nars Immaculate Complexion Loose Powder and a velour powder puff (1 min).

“I have a lot of blushes so the shades vary but currently I’ve been favouring Nars Deep Throat and Mac Dainty. I apply to the cheeks  in a c shape from the apple of the cheek curved up the cheekbone to the temple (1 min).

“I don’t always wear eyeshadow, but when I do I use Urban Decay Primer Potion, (30 secs). I’ve recently been using Nars Lhasa a lot as a one colour eye look. I apply using a Real Techniques brush (2 mins). I curl my lashes using a Pout eyelash curler I’ve had for years and then apply one coat of Le Volume De Chanel Mascara (1 min). I am a lipstick girl all the way. I apply it straight from the bullet (30 secs).

“I generally just brush my hair and apply a little Tigi Bed Head After Party to smooth any frizzies. I never wash my hair in the morning as I have loads of it and I’m crap at blowdrying (2 mins).“

YVONNE’S TIME TOTAL: 14.5 minutes

London-dweller Lynda Moorhead is a 31-year-old beauty buff who many will know for her nail art prowess. Beauty writer and blogger at lyndarthemerciless.blogspot.com, she’s also recently taken on what her dad would call a proper job with Lily’s Kitchen, a local producer of organic, wild, and artisan food for pets.

“Once I've come to terms with the fact that I really do need to get up (I only live four minutes from the office so as late as I can get away with, basically) and hauled myself out of the scratcher, I wash my face, apply my skincare, and have breakfast while my moisturiser does its thing.

“Usually I just splash my face with cool water in the mornings, and then twice a week I add a dab of Origins Modern Friction to exfoliate. If I've applied some heavy-duty products the night before, I'll reach for Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser which leaves my skin feeling clean and wide awake but not stripped (45 secs-2 mins).

“At the moment I'm between moisturisers and relying on La Roche Posay Cicaplast to keep my skin on an even keel. It makes a great primer for foundation, too (2 mins). A brightening eye product with a cooling tip is something you'll always find in my morning skincare kit. Clinique Even Better Eyes Dark Circle Corrector has yet to have any massive remedial impact on my pesky under-eye darkness but since it hydrates the area nicely and the metal applicator helps with puffiness, I'll keep using it for the foreseeable (1 min).

“Estee Lauder Double Wear Light is the foundation I keep coming back to. I buff it on with a MAC 187 duo-fibre brush for a lasting flawless finish. If I'm short on time I'll leave it at that, but if I'm looking especially knackered I'll bust out my Bobbi Brown Corrector and Concealer to sort out bags and dark circles under the eyes (5 mins).

“I use my oversized Sonia Kashuk for Target powder brush to dust on an Essence bronzer if I'm looking a bit wan or in need of some contouring – their Bobbi Brown-alike Sun Club Shimmer Brick is getting all my bronzer love right now. I like Benefit Posietint for cheeks because it makes me look awake even when I feel like an extra in World War Z, and I apply it with a MAC 116 blusher brush so that it doesn't cause the foundation beneath to move around.

“My eyelids are purple hued at the best of times so daily colour correction is a must. Essence I Love Stage Eyeshadow Base is yellow-toned so neutralises redness as well as providing a super base for eyeshadow. I use The Body Shop Colour Crush Eyeshadow in Golden Girl all over the lid. My upper lashline gets a flicky-outy rim of black liquid liner from Rimmel Glam'Eyes. A squeeze of my trusty Shu Uemura eyelash curlers and a lick of The Body Shop's Super Volume Mascara and I'm – almost – good to go (5 mins).

“I do my lips on the walk to work, so no product that requires any level of precision application gets a look in. A slick of my multi-tasking Posietint or Revlon Lip Butter in Sweet Tart are good bets for a natural looking everyday pink (0).

“My hair is always a bit of an afterthought – it's long and straight and reasonably well behaved, so if I manage to pull a brush through it as I head out the door I call that a win. With second (or third) day hair I rely on Batiste and artfully messy buns created with Goody Spin Pins to prevent me looking like a total unwashed scuzzbucket (0-3 mins).

LYNDA'S TIME TOTAL: 25 minutes.

Katrina Darcy is a 24-year-old beauty blogger from Tallaght in Dublin. Hoping to start a beauty course in the new year, you can check out her cosmetic musings on Beautifulfoundations.blogspot.ie.

“I always make sure to be up at least one hour before I have to leave the house. I do my heavy cleansing at night, so in the morning I just use my Nima mitt to wipe away the nights sleep (2 mins). At the moment I’m using Nivea Express Hydration Primer. I apply it and let it absorb for five-to-ten minutes, but I’ll busy myself doing my hair while I’m waiting.

“My holy grail foundation is L’Oreal Paris True Match, I apply it usually with my Blank Canvas Kabuki. My current concealer is an Oriflame concealer trio patted on with clean fingers. Usually this takes about 10 minutes; 15 if I’ve a lot of blending to do.

“My favourite blush for Autumn is my No7 powder blush in a lovely dusky pink colour. To highlight my cheekbones and nose I use an Inglot highlighting palette and an angled powder brush. (5 mins)

“Eyes are where the vast majority of my time is spent. If I’m going for a fairly nude eye I tend to really accentuate my cat flick, so getting them to match can sometimes gobble up my time. My go-to liner is NYC Liquid. If I’m going for a nice, day time smokey eye I stick to my MUA Heaven and Earth palette. I also use an MUA Pro Brow kit to fill in and shape my brows. My mascara of the month is Seventeen’s Doll’d up mascara. (15 mins)

I do love lippie, but for regular day wear it’s normally just a dab of Vaseline, or a very muted lipgloss like Rimmel Apocalips in Nude Eclipse.

As I have extensions my hair is more irritated than normal. I generally sleep with it in a plait, and use Tresemme Heat Defense styling spray as I straighten and curl my hair quite a bit. In the morning I just brush it through, style and finish it with some GOT2B Oilicious styling oil (and a spray of Elnett if it’s curled). (20 mins)

KATRINA'S TIME TOTAL: 40-45 minutes.
