Made in Chelsea‘s Alexandra ‘Binky’ Felstead was in town yesterday as part of her brand ambassador duties for Rimmel’s Sunshimmer line, of which there are a couple of newbies joining, as well as some swish new packaging. More on that below, because we want a gander at the gal, right? Right.
She’s very pretty, which you expect from seeing her on TV, she’s slim and much taller in person, which is in part due to her towering shoes. And lovely with it. Not a massive fashion fan, Binky was happy for me to have a look inside the collar of her kimono top to check the label – she’d bought it in-concession at Topshop and neither of us recognised it – and reckons she’s very much a high street girl – except for handbags.
That, plus the general decency, is why she’s the nicest character on MiC. She may be one of Mark Francis’ self-declared favourite characters but when I ask if he’s hers, she diplomatically says, “He is one of my favourites on the show,” with a big smile.
So, what was she wearing? A bronzed and burnished makeup look done by Irish artist Kate O’Reilly, hair by Davey Davey – extensions by Easilocks – and just a couple of accessories.
These babies are from Topshop. Oh boy, they were high.
And the gold cuff is another Toppers buy. White nails complement her bronzed hue, which she is kerazee about – as befits someone fronting a tanning line.
You do get the sense from Binky that she actually likes the product she’s repping. Which is nice, as it makes the whole process of chatting about the line that bit more enjoyable.
So, en route in February is an interesting-sounding Instant Tan BB which is not in fact just for face – it’s got skincare and beauty benefits for body. The existing Instant Tan products are re-packaged and colour-coded so they’re easier to ID and buy and there’ll be a pre-tan exfoliator as well. Nice work for tan fans, Rimmel.
In the meantime, let me know your feels on Binky. Love her like me or not a fan of Made in Chelsea? Drop a comment below.
