Jenna Lyons, the creative force behind the J.Crew brand, is a bit of a dynamo and has grafted her way up the brand’s ladder from lowly assistant to creative director and president. “There’s this idea that everybody has to have everything right away,” she’s said. “I wasn’t the superstar. I had to work for it. Really long hours.”
So how did she do it? Soup. Lyons told Lucky magazine editor Eva Chen (we’re gonna be looking at her stellar accessorising later this week) that soup’s the ideal food for success for busy women because “you can drink with one hand and work with the other.” Boom!
So, what soups do we all favour for ultimate nourishment during speed career-advancement? Twitter to the rescue:
@BespokeBeautyEB @frillseeker Broccoli & blue cheese mmm…

@frillseeker Chicken & vegetable Broth. It's tasty & warming when you're not feeling well & it helps draw out impurities if you have a cold!

@frillseeker French onion, reminds me of Paris

@frillseeker sweet potato, squash, coconut milk, chilli, lime juice. I call it sunshine soup because it is warming and cosy and bright.

@frillseeker carrot with ginger

@frillseeker My roast pepper & tomato soup. It’s got a shit-tonne of garlic in it plus balsamic & Worcestershire sauce. And no fat. Yum!

I feel Ms Lyons is a little too hard-working for my liking.
