In my (limited) experience of meeting celebrities at events, they tend to fall into one of three camps. There are the ones who are aloof and disinterested and can’t wait to leg it when they’re off the clock (I can sadly name no names – but I can, Kirstie). There are the ones who are polite and professional but absolutely zero craic at all. And then there are those rare lovely beings who, after five minutes in their company, feel like the oldest of pals.

Caroline Morahan falls into the first camp. JUST KIDDING! See, I can joke like that because we’re besties. After hanging out with the actress and TV host at the Littlewoods Ireland AW fashion show last night, I can tell you she’s every bit as lovely as she seems on the telly – and then some.

Between swigging pink bubbly, fetching Murphy’s gin ice-cream for everyone at the table and patiently putting up with my zillion attempts to get a non-cross-eyed #selfie (HOW DO PEOPLE DO IT?) with my new BFF, the chat turned, as it does, to cosmetics. And more specifically, exactly what Caroline uses to get that glossy LA glow.

Rocking a great nude lip and winged liner at the event (by Irish makeup artist Zoe Clark), it wasn’t a million miles away from her usual look, with her fave lippy being none other than Kohl Cosmetic’s signature nude, Karma (2) (find it in Brown Sugar). Shiseido lash curlers (3) are another essential – and her favourite makeup product of all time?

That would be the Clarins Instant Light Brush On Perfector pen (1), which she uses under her eyes, on her cheekbones and around her lip line, to add radiance to her look.

But how is her hair so shiny, I demanded, and her skin so good? The secret, apparently, is Udo’s Oil (4), added daily to smoothies and salads or taken in capsule form. Caroline reckons there’s a big difference if she’s skipped a day or two, and that the omega rich blend is especially great after exercise.

Daily sunscreen is her final beauty tip, with her preference being for Irish brand Parasol – a new one to me, but apparently made in Carlow.

And the last beauty bits that she bought? A matching Make Up For Ever lipgloss for her mam and sister.

See? Lovely.
