So, you wanna get the down-low on this, doncha? YSL Le Teint Encre de Peau, or Fusion Ink Foundation as I think I’ll definitely be calling it, is en route from Yves Saint Laurent very shortly for €40 a bottle.

Apologies for crappy iPhone pix – oh, and you can grab a little preview of the AW14 collection in the background too.

16 shades (including two half shades) will be labelled same as the Le Teint Touche Eclat shades, so we can easily buy the right colour. If you’re BD20 (me, me) in Le Teint, you’ll be the same in this.

So, what is it? Basically, it’s YSL’s lightweight, matte, sebum-sucking base that’s dickied right up in a glass bottle that’s designed to mimic a tuxedo.

It’s a fine fluid that, much like Chanel’s Perfection Lumiere Velvet, has done away with polymer fillers so it’s got coverage but no clunk. The formula’s lipophilic and hydrophilic, so is designed to absorb oil and sweat, so excellent for an oilier skintype, which is precisely who it’s for.

It won’t come with a pump, rather it’s got what the brand is calling a ‘quill’, and you need to shake the bottle before you apply. So, light-feeling with coverage, lots of shade choice and designed for oily gals; good, huh?
