Longitude’s hitting Marlay Park this Saturday and Sunday and Met.ie’s indicating that the weather ain’t gonna play ball, tomorrow at least. Soz BBZ: that’s gonna make for a mighty mucky sitch, so what you’ll need if you’re heading Rathfarnham-way will be some decent boots, headgear (not of the flower crown variety, I beg you) and a very on-trend cross body bag.
Boots don’t have to be wellies, you know. If you’re not into them (I’m not, due to big calves), dig out your pretendy Acne Pistols from winter – if they’re on their last legs then you’re not going to mind messing them up in the mud, especially if they’re already worn to death. Just pick something to protect toes and avoid heels; you won’t be able to walk.
A small cross-body’s an essential. It’ll look good but carry the right amount of stuff too: cash, a pack or two of tissues, hand sanitiser (the only time I advocate this nasty stuff) and sunscreen (here’s hoping). What else’re you gonna need, huh? Here’s some inspo for you for the weekend. Enjoy!
Make like festival perennial Fearne in flower-pattered boots from Korky's, €99.99, and a heart-shaped patent bag, €38, Floozie By Frostfrench.
It wouldn't be a festival style roundup without Mossy, wha? Bag, €38, Red Herring, and posh wellingtons, €90, Littlewoods Ireland.
Beanie there, done that when it comes to festivals and Cara. Bag a two pack of slogan hats from Penneys for just €4, and swap one out when you get rained on.
Carry this Laael bag, €185, on your wrist, and make almost exactly like Lily Allen's Glasto shorts. These River Island boots, €45, will be outstanding in a field, too.
My festival fave, and cool-girl crush, Lauren Laverne is so ace. Get her look with this sleek Stephanie Leather Clutch, €31, from Oasis, and these rather fab sparkly Chelsea boot wellies, €19.99, New Look.
