It’s wearable, sure, but not if you like neutrals
The Simpsons for Mac (or rather, Marge Simpson for Mac) will land in stores come September 4th and do note that in Ireland, you’ll only find this at the Henry street standalone BT Mac store. I can’t remember a collection from the brand that’s been this divisive.
On the one hand, Mac’s always brave with its collabs, and cartoons and animated characters aren’t a first – we’ve had Archie, we’ve had Disney villians, we’ve had Barbie, Wonder Woman and a slew more. On the other hand, Marge ain’t exactly what you’d call a beauty icon, eh?
So there’s been talk.
Basically, this is a bit of fun; something you’ll buy cos you’re a brand fan, a Simpsons nut or love colour. It’s wearable, sure, but not if you like neutrals, I’ll grant you.
With four Lipglasses, two shadow quads, two Powder Blushes, a lash set and a Mac first, press on nail transfers, that’s pretty much your short ‘n’ sweet lot. Here’s what I’ve been sent.
This is Powder Blush in Pink Sprinkles, €25.50. It comes in Marge packaging with a debossed decal and is a satin matte – no shimmer. There’s one more shade, Sideshow You, a light peach coral.
These are the real standout piece because they’re a brand first. Oh, ok, we’ve seen this precise thing before from Sally Hansen et all, but have we seen them covered in Simpsons characters? I THINK NOT. €11.
Two of the four Lipglass shades, €20.50, these are wearable and pretty. You’re looking at Grand Pumpkin and Red Blazer.
Swatches of Grand Pumpkin, Red Blazer and Powder Blush in Pink Sprinkles.
That’s yer lot – I haven’t seen the quads up close ‘n’ personal, but what do you think? One to pass or one to buy?
