Here’s something I do waaay too often: load up on ‘scessories, hit the road, grab my coffee and land at my desk. Then I proceed to take off all my rings so I can actually go about my daily routine of emails, writing, copy-editing and subbing in In Design (I work at a magazine). Pretty pointless, so, for me to be loading on the gems, but the thing is, I like wearing my rings to the office.
The solution? Clearly it’s to invest in some pretty pieces that are a little more low profile than the knuckle-dusters and cocktail bling I tend to favour. Like, you know, these five.
This Beauty In The Wild Ring in Lemon Quartz and gold is €149, by Chupi. Yes, this looks big, but swearsies, it’s a nu-school cocktail ring you can wear during the day and it won’t drive you bananas. How do I know? Cos I have one, and I wear it every. Single. Day. Psst: if this colourway ain’t your thing, it comes in some other stone choices too.
This X Ring And Midi Ring Duo, $25, from Jeweliq, gives you two for the price of one: one ring sits at the base of the finger, and the other rests above the knuckle. TREND.
Catbird is always a reliable for pretty pieces and this would make as good a promise ring (BTW, what do we think of them?) as it would an office-appropriate band that your keyboard won’t hate. Diamond baguette ring, $320.
In Dublin, check out Loulerie for off-kilter offers, like this lovely Perle de Lune Blue Topaz Ring, €375.
Now at Marc by Marc Jacobs along with pal Luella Bartley, you can still bag Katie Hillier‘s own line of accessories. I’d plump for the well-named Pretty Ring in 18 carat white gold with a pink sapphire, for £295.
Which do you like?
