L’Oreal Paris is probably the only mass brand that could pull this off convincingly
Okay, so while they might not be #everywoman (hello massive bank balances and glittering careers et cetera), L’Oreal Paris’ celeb ambassadors do share one thing in common with the rest of us. Varying ethnicities, hair colours, ages and skintones add up to a beauty conundrum that a lot of women just can’t solve: how to find the right red to suit?
That’s what the brand’s September-launching Collection Exclusive Pure Reds launch is all about. If you got down with the very similar (and great) Nudes launch from last year, you’ll know the drill: using ambassadors from the line as inspo, the brand showcases just how you can, in fact, wear the colour, and ponys up a product to match.
It’s clever, and it’s probably the only mass brand that could pull this off convincingly; because, ambassadors. And it’s chosen well for Collection Exclusive Pure Reds, too. Blake Lively reps the pale blonde; Julianne Moore the tricky redhead who so often avoids the shade altogether; Liya Kebede’s fronting a colour for back skins and Eva Longoria steps up for a bronzed, olive complexion.
Makeup artist Lynsey Alexander’s got lip tips.
I’m looking forward to samples of these €11.99 lipsticks, because they sound fab on paper. Velvety, intense pigment, a comforting feel and a matte result? Oh, I’m in.
Sound good to you too?
