The most commercial of all the fashion week cities, New York’s makeup and nails are often quite understated and sedate as a result – we wait for Paris for the big (makeup) guns.

But this year, there are a few surprises emerging to give us a nod as to what we might be painting on our faces come spring. While NYFW doesn’t actually end until today, here’s what’s tickled my fancy so far.

Would you wear any of ’em?

White liner, white nails and accented inner corners: this is one fresh-faced beauty look from Custo Barcelona.

Hyperreal skin was in, thanks to Maybelline's airbrush-effect Dream Wonder Foundation at Zana Bayne.

A soft smokey with a sharp accent on the waterline made an appearance at Opening Ceremony. Prep to bring shadow well below the lower lid this spring.

Loving the liner at Cushnie et Ochs.Bonus? This one's perfect for you if you can never ever get them matching, and keep on going. Now it's a trend!

Blue hue at Dannijo.

FKA Twigs-alike stylised kisscurls at DKNY.

Look to Chris Gelinas for a little directional beauty - I love this fresh faced look with white lashes.

The Giuletta girl is pretty in pink.

At Lacoste, it was all about the skin.

Liner's back in a big way and Nanette Lepore's take handily showcases the lashes. This is retro-futuristic mod, and I love it.

Brows are big (again) for SS15, if Jonathan Simkhai is anything to go by.

A neon'll get me every time. Peter Som's under eye smudge is my fave.

Dirty stop out makeup, I believe you'd call this. It's sexy, no?
